Emily Crawford

Founder and Director, Luminosity Communications and Marketing

Emily is the founder of Luminosity Communications and Marketing, a public relations and strategic communications firm serving clients in the public and private sector. Before founding Luminosity, she served as Marketing Director for the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority (PDA) and Marketing Director for the Lensic Performing Arts Center, in Santa Fe, NM. A career in journalism led her to New York, where she received a master’s degree from Columbia University and to Buenos Aires, where she reported on startups and venture capital investments in Latin American and Silicon Valley.

Emily is an avid sea kayaker and is passionate about ocean conservation. She has enjoyed paddling in the San Juan Islands for 20 years and never tires of exploring the dynamic and exceptional marine ecosystem of the Salish Sea. Her passion for our local waters has led her to volunteer, work and champion efforts to protect it.
